Hello Alumni!

I want to thank you for taking time to explore the Chowan University Web site. So many great things are happening here at Chowan and now is the perfect time to get involved! The University continues to experience a surge in enrollment growth and there are numerous capital renovations taking place on campus.

Over the last eight years, nearly $10 million in campus renovations have taken place and more than 2 million in capital improvements are taking place this summer alone. Most of these improvements have been to the men’s and women’s residence halls, drastically improving the quality of living for our residential students.

The 2010-11 academic year will mark the official opening of Chowan’s graduate school, offering the first master’s program in teacher education with several more graduate programs to follow in the very near future.

After a successful year competing in the historic CIAA athletic conference, which saw Chowan’s volleyball and softball teams capture conference championships, we are looking forward to seeing all of our teams improve on last season’s success. We would love to have you come out and cheer on the Hawks!

As the institution grows and improves, we want to make sure that we keep our alumni engaged and informed on all of these exciting developments. I encourage you to keep your contact information current so that you can continue to receive informative publications and mailings.

You can be proud of what your alma mater is doing and I hope that you will make every effort to visit this beautiful campus as often as your schedule permits.
